Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Item Story is an on-device app for recording and managing flexible item information. No account or sign-in is required. This policy explains how data is handled by the app and its third-party advertising service.
2. Data stored on your device
The following data may be stored locally on your device:
- Items, categories, custom fields, tags, repeat histories, and Trash data
- Photos attached by you
- Alert, custom tab, custom statistic, currency, unit, language, and theme settings
Item Story does not upload this core item data to a developer-operated server.
3. Backups and user-initiated sharing
You can export selected data to an .ist backup file and optionally protect it with a password. A backup may contain item details, categories, photos, custom tabs, custom statistics, and Trash data according to your export selections.
When you export, import, or share a backup or PDF, the file is handled through locations and services you select. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Keep backup passwords and exported files secure.
4. Permissions and system services
- Camera: take photos for image fields.
- Photo Library: attach existing photos to image fields.
- Notifications: schedule local alerts for alert-date fields.
These permissions are optional and are requested when the related feature is used. The system document picker and share sheet are used when you select, export, or share .ist backups and PDF files.
5. Google AdMob
The iOS version of Item Story uses Google AdMob to display ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process data such as IP address-based general location, device identifiers, advertising data, app interactions, crash data, and performance data for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service operation.
Item Story does not control Google's independent processing. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information for advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it, empty Trash, reset app data, or uninstall the app. Some deleted images may remain while another active or deleted item still references the same file. Exported files remain wherever you saved or shared them until you remove them there.
7. Your choices
- Manage Camera, Photo Library, and Notification permissions in system settings.
- Turn local notifications on or off in Item Story settings.
- Delete or restore items through Trash and clear all app data in settings.
- Choose what to include in a backup and whether to use a password.
8. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when app features, third-party SDKs, or legal requirements change. The updated date will be shown at the top. For privacy or support questions, visit the Item Story Support page.
